fall dress!

The weather has been getting more and more chilly so here is one of my favorite festive dresses! I got the fabric from Jo~Ann’s and paired it with black target tights and my absolute favorite Betsey boots!

Tile Art

I made this my senior year during Sculpture. As told in an earlier post, I had an amazing teacher but don’t let that reflect on this piece! It was one of my first times working with clay and the glazing isn’t nearly how I wanted it to turn out.

pottery bowl!

Another bowl I made over the summer! Fluted edge on top and coated with one layer of white glaze all over, then two coats of yellow on the inside and two coats of red on the outside.

Yarn Bowl

Time to take a break from dresses and POTTERY TIME. I took sculpture at my high school last year and my teacher was amazing! So amazing that this yarn bowl featured above was made by me! I never thought I could actually make something like that by myself! I made it for my mom’s birthday because she loooooves to knit! Now she can put the yarn in the bowl and pull it through without it getting tangled. And it looks awesome!

easy pattern party!

One of the easiest patterns I have EVER worked with! It was only 4 pieces total and super easy! It’s one of my favorite dresses because I could lengthen it easily and adding a belt made it work! (in my Tim Gunn voice) Worn with my mom’s boots, my mom’s belt, and navy blue tights from Target!

tank top dress!

One of the easier to make dresses, all you need is about a yard (depends how full you want the skirt) of the fabric for the bottom. You also need a tank top that you don’t mind getting rid of! preferably a tank and not a cami. I’m just not a fan of the super thin straps! If all else, just go strapless. The straps in my picture are braided! And take another piece of fabric to wrap around the middle as a belt. Super fast to make and really difficult to mess up!

Black/gray blocked dress!

I made this dress for my choir banquet, junior year. I had a thing for pleather, hence the top of the dress, and I wanted it to have a chunk different on the bottom. I used the coolest floral tulle for the right side and the left has black tulle covering a shiny sequin look-a-like fabric. Surprisingly, no sequins at all! I also went to the banquet with my closet and most wonderful friend, Alyson! Too bad she goes to A&M and I attend UT. BUT this dress will always be a favorite due to the memories and my ability to sew a zipper in the side.

Quilt in progress!

My roommate decided she wanted to make her little sister something special for her 13th birthday! I already cut out all the squares and sewed the name on. Now to put it all together!

Game Day Dress!

I made a game day dress a few hours before the game this past saturday! I cut up a shirt and added elastic to back, then made a removable skirt by adding elastic to the top of that too. Now I can match the skirt up with any other UT shirt I have and the black belt was just the perfect accessory! Thank you Betsey Johnson. ❤

Easy to make dresses!

I love making clothing and I find the easiest article to make are dresses! Most of mine of free-handed, very few are made with patterns. Enjoy!
